Hyland Software, Inc., developer of the OnBase enterprise content management (ECM) software suite which includes core capabilities in document imaging, workflow and records management, and Matrix Imaging, a full-service provider of software, implementation, technical design and support services to colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada, have been named by the University of Alaska as the organization's provider of document management software and services. With the solution, Alaska will be able to better serve students and constituents through the streamlining of mission-critical business processes while reducing costs, improving service and ensuring compliance.
The OnBase solution, which will replace paper-based student records with universally accessible electronic files, will be used at Alaska's three main campuses in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau, as well as at its 17 remote campuses. Over 400 employees will initially use the solution, which is set to scale to approximately 4,000 users, in the Admissions, Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar departments.
Alaska awarded the contract to Matrix, a Hyland Authorized OnBase Solution Provider. To date, Matrix and Hyland have collaborated to implement OnBase at numerous colleges and universities across the country, including Columbia University, Indiana University and the University of Memphis.
"The process of recruiting and retaining large numbers of quality students is time consuming and costly," said Jennifer Tysse, founder and principal at Matrix Imaging. "We look forward to helping the University of Alaska leverage our OnBase solutions for higher education to uphold its commitment to deliver consistent, superior and cost-effective service to it's academic, administrative and external constituents."
By digitizing, standardizing and automating processes, OnBase Higher Education Solutions enable higher education institutions to deliver more services to students across campus in less time and with fewer resources than with traditional paper processing. Utilizing OnBase in Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, Alumni Records and Development processes, higher education institutions are better able to serve prospective, enrolled and alumni students across campus from initial admissions application to alumni relations.
"It's extremely fulfilling to have the opportunity to be the document management provider at one of the top institutions of higher learning in the world in the University of Alaska," said Brenda Kirk, vice president of U.S. Sales at Hyland. "The Alaska win further showcases the successes that the relationship between Matrix and Hyland has produced."
