Unique SharePoint Training Program To Focus On Practical Reality Of SharePoint
First of its kind training program to address need for education and training related to how to find, control, and optimize information on the SharePoint 2010 platform.
Silver Spring, MD and Houston, TX (PRWEB ) -- In May of this year, AIIM (a non-profit industry association for image and information management) will introduce a SharePoint Certificate Program based on identified best practices from its 65,000 strong community. AIIM partnered with Gimmal Group, Inc., a leading Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Records Management (RM) professional services firm, to develop the course based on identified best practices. Attendees will not only learn the necessary strategy and structures for sharing and managing information on the SharePoint 2010 platform, but also learn when they need complementary solutions.
"Microsoft and partners provide product and technical training on SharePoint, but a successful implementation requires a strategy and structure for how to share and manage information," says Atle Skjekkeland, Vice President of AIIM. "Many organizations looking to implement the SharePoint platform lack a strategy and necessary training in metadata, content types, templates, and taxonomies to successfully share and manage information, and we developed this new SharePoint Certificate program based on identified best practices from our 65,000 strong community. The industry experts at Gimmal Group supported the development of this training course, which will be available shortly after Microsoft releases SharePoint 2010 on May 12."
This new and unique training course covers best practices in how to share and manage information on the SharePoint platform. Our focus is SharePoint 2010, but it will also cover SharePoint 2007 and technologies that complement SharePoint. The online and classroom courses will be useful for information management professionals, IT professionals, business analysts, line-of-business managers, and consultants. Upon passing the online exam, course attendees will be granted the AIIM Practitioner, Specialist, or Master designations. For more information visit http://www.aiim.org/sp.
"The new SharePoint course provides the knowledge that IT and information management professionals need in order to understand the components necessary for managing information on the new SharePoint 2010 platform, including an administrative and content governance framework," said David Quackenbush, President of Gimmal Group. "Attendees will learn how to successfully manage content, records, and business processes on the SharePoint platform. We are excited to support AIIM's SharePoint Certificate Program."
