SpringCM Announces Sharepoint Connectivity
SpringCM announced recently that it has released the first connectivity solution between its market leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ECM platform and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS, 2007). The SpringCM Cloud Connector for SharePoint enables easy integration between the portal and collaborative capabilities of SharePoint and the rich content management capabilities of SpringCM.
The SpringCM Cloud Connectors for SharePoint enhance SharePoint capabilities in two ways:
- Application developers and companies using SharePoint now can easily extend SharePoint's native capabilities with a single integrated set of ECM functionality spanning: scanning and image capture; comprehensive business process management (BPM); optical character recognition (OCR); integrated fax, view and markup; records management and e-signature. This broad functionality is not available from any single SharePoint partner, and dramatically reduces the integration cost, time and maintenance required to extend SharePoint. Organizations can now develop complex content applications for processes such as new employee on-boarding performance reviews, financial reporting, project management and much more, while leveraging SpringCM's unified repository for enterprise search, records management and compliance.
- SharePoint users looking for rich content applications for mission critical processes such as contract management, proposal management, Accounts Payable processing, patient record management, student records management and more now have seamless access to the growing library of SpringCM and partner Solutions available through SpringCM's Solutions Central marketplace where SpringCM and its partners showcase pre-built templates for many content-centric processes. Now, these content centric applications may be deployed rapidly on SpringCM and integrated with organizations' existing SharePoint portals.
SpringCM Cloud Connectors for SharePoint enable:
- Single sign on: Active Directory integration enables users to traverse from SharePoint workspaces to SpringCM application with a single sign-on.
- Content access: SpringCM applications and repositories may be navigated directly from within SharePoint.
- Search: Content in SpringCM applications may be searched from within SharePoint.
SpringCM is offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) so regardless of whether SharePoint is installed or hosted, the SpringCM connectors for SharePoint enable SharePoint users to receive these benefits with:
- Low initial cost: Since the solution is hosted you have an annual subscription but no new hardware to buy or license fees to pay.
- Rapid deployment: SpringCM is configured, not customized, so you can be up and running in weeks – not months or years.
- Agility: The solution is easily changed as your business needs evolve – easy configuration instead of complex programming – with the ability to upload millions of documents or faxes.
- Ease of use: SpringCM can be utilized for power users, with integrated access to document through Web Parts deployed to a SharePoint Farm.
- Availability: SpringCM is a hosted Web-based application so employees can access the business solution from any computer with a browser and Internet connection.
- Security: Hosted in a secure data center, SpringCM offers full audit trails, a robust security model and strong password authentication to ensure the security of key corporate content.
"Organizations use SharePoint to standardize on a single interface to their content portals," said Dan Carmel, CEO of SpringCM. "By linking SharePoint and SpringCM, we enable those organizations to address departmental content management needs that fall outside the scope of SharePoint. We do this cost-effectively and with greater agility than previously possible."
