Software Automation In The Blood And Biologics Industry
By James Jardine
To meet current industry challenges, blood and biologics organizations must look for ways to improve process efficiencies so as to remain viable, while staying compliant with a world-wide plethora of regulatory bodies.
Software solutions allow companies to increase their process efficiencies and to cease to rely on paper-based processes making it far less likely that missed regulatory deadlines and non-compliance events will occur. In addition, companies that use software to ensure the competency of staff and reduce process implementation and revision time benefit from increased process efficiency.
However, with a growing number of solution types commercially available and a corresponding increase of functional overlaps between these solutions, the software selection process has grown somewhat confusing, especially when trying to maximize cost-to-benefit ratios.
In this paper we summarize the different categories of solutions available as well as the needs and wants that they address.
