Santana Row Chooses Park Assist's M4 Smart-Sensor Solution For Its Latest Parking Guidance Installation

Park Assist has been awarded another Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for Santana Row in San Jose, California. Santana Row, a Federal Realty Investment Trust property, is Silicon Valley’s premier destination for shopping, dining, living, working, and playing. Offering 2.1 million square feet of retail, office, hotel, and residential space, this development includes luxury rental homes, privately-owned condos, 690,000+ square feet of Class A office space, world-renowned shops and restaurants, spas and salons, a boutique hotel, and a movie theatre. It is the hub for high-tech innovation and development. This popular mixed-use destination will use Park Assist’s proprietary, camera-based M4 smart-sensor PGS to provide a seamless parking journey for all patrons. This will be Park Assist’s sixth PGS installed at Santana Row over the last three years; with this latest addition, every parking garage in the development will include Park Assist’s unique guidance-and-beyond technology to elevate each customer’s parking experience.

Federal Realty Investment Trust, the real estate investment firm behind Santana Row, chose Park Assist’s system to provide the highest level of guidance and elevate its wayfinding technology across the entire mixed-use development. With five previous successful installations, this new M4 system will integrate with the existing technology to enhance guidance throughout the facility. It will include two unique software add-ons, Park Finder™ and Park Alerts™, which utilize Park Assist’s integrated License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to maximize customer satisfaction and increase control within the garage.

As patrons enter the Santana Row West garage, they will be seamlessly guided to open spaces with Park Assist’s camera-based M4 PGS. The bright, color-coded smart-sensors help parkers navigate the garage by indicating which spaces are available and occupied using red and green lights. Designed to change from red to green when spaces become available, the LED light ring indicator quickly directs parkers to available bays, decreasing parking search times, minimizing traffic congestion, and maximizing garage efficiency.

Additionally, Santana Row will link the PGS to its digital displays located around the development. Park Assist’s cloud-based software platform, INX™, will feed parking availability data to the displays, so guests at any given time will know where there is available parking within the facility. With this information, parkers can make the most informed decisions before entering a garage, easing traffic during peak periods.

Park Assist’s breakthrough Park Finder API will help Santana Row visitors easily pinpoint their vehicle upon returning to the garage. Utilizing the Find Your Car™ vehicle locator, guests can enter their license plate number into an enabled kiosk. The system then searches its database of vehicles to find and direct customers to the correct car. This advanced-technology extension is an invaluable guidance feature, creating a superior parking experience. This module increases the likelihood that visitors will wish to return by easing unnecessary stress and limiting wasted time.

Park Assist’s Park Alerts software extension offers parking management greater control of the garage. This software add-on helps create a more efficient and safe facility, enabling parking management to set automated rules and alerts. These time and license-plate-based alerts will immediately notify management if any parking policies are violated; they can then take the appropriate action, serving to regulate usage and improve the facility’s security.

“Park Assist is so pleased to be working with Federal Realty Investment Trust again on this new installation. The intrinsic value of Park Assist’s smart-sensor system will continue to help Santana Row curate the best customer experience by creating a holistic wayfinding parking journey for its patrons.” Said Will Cai, Regional Account Manager.

Site work is scheduled to begin this month with an estimated completion date in May 2021.
