Purepay Receivables Automation Awarded Contract From Henry County Water And Sewerage Authority For Payments Solution

Purepay Receivables Automation, a Purepay portfolio company, recently announced that it won a contract to provide the Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority (HCWSA) with an image-based payments processing solution with remote deposit capabilities.

Serving 54,000 customers, HCWSA was founded in 1961 by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia to provide a water and sewerage system capable of accommodating the needs of local residents and businesses, while protecting the watershed in order to ensure clean water sources.

After an extensive evaluation of solutions available on the market, HCWSA selected Purepay Receivables Automation's flagship ItemAge Express remittance processing solution to significantly reduce the time, labor and expense required to process payments. Previously, HCWSA manually entered payments into terminals connected to its host system. Leveraging the efficiency of an image-enabled workflow, the water and sewerage system's ItemAge Express payments solution will include components for image archive and retrieval, courtesy and legal amount recognition (CAR/LAR), automated MICR matching of account numbers, hot files for flagged customer accounts (such as those with a ‘Cash Payment Only' status), and uploads to its Cogsdale customer information system.

ItemAge Express will enable authorized HCWSA customer service personnel to electronically access archived payments images and data, dramatically reducing the time to research customer inquiries. Additionally, ItemAge Express will provide HCWSA with the ability to electronically deposit items to its bank, eliminating the need for trips to the branch and potentially accelerating funds availability. HCWSA's solution will run on the iTRAN 3000t document scanner from NCR Corporation.

"In today's economy, billers want to reduce the costs and inefficiencies associated with payments processing, while at the same time being able to benefit from the customer service advantages of advanced technology," said Doug Myers, vice president, sales and business development, Purepay Receivables Automation. "Purepay is able to leverage its strengths in innovative, cost-effective remittance technology, coupled with its remote deposit capabilities, to deliver billers like Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority a complete payments processing solution. By reducing the complexity associated with payments processing, Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority is able to focus on its core competency – meeting the needs of local residents and businesses."
