Plasmon, the market leader for professional optical storage solutions, announced an exclusive worldwide service agreement with Kodak Service & Support, a business of Eastman Kodak Company. The five-year agreement builds on an existing service relationship for 12" optical libraries and drives, naming Kodak as the preferred global on-site service provider for Plasmon's main product lines. It provides service coverage in all major metropolitan areas worldwide.

The products affected by the agreement are the Plasmon G-Series 5.25-inch Magneto-Optical (MO) libraries, D-Series DVD optical libraries, and V-Series Tape autoloaders and libraries. Kodak Service and Support will also be the preferred on-site service provider for Plasmon's G-Series UDO (Ultra Density Optical) libraries shipping later this year.

"We are excited about expanding our exclusive agreement with Kodak Service & Support," said Chris Harris, president, Plasmon. "Now that it encompasses our main product lines, including the soon-to-be-announced UDO libraries, more of our customers will benefit from improved global reach and around-the-clock on-site service coverage."

Plasmon and Kodak are building on significant investments in infrastructure and resources that ensure the highest level of channel and customer service quality. Kodak's experienced and knowledgeable worldwide service team receives direct Plasmon factory training to learn about the company's latest technology advancements and product updates. Each field engineer must complete an annual certification exam. Plasmon also provides Kodak with direct access to its extensive knowledge databases, technical support team, and factory engineers.

"We are pleased that Plasmon, the leader in the professional optical storage industry, has chosen Kodak as the preferred on-site service provider for its main product lines," said Dolores Traxler, vice president and general manager, Kodak Service & Support. "The expanded relationship provides Plasmon partners and customers increased access to Kodak's world-class on-site service."
