I would have to say that the PAF is by far, the most frequently used form by HR Generalists. Because it is used for so many different purposes like title changes, promotions, department changes, manager changes, and compensation changes, it's safe to say we process these forms constantly.

I know more and more companies are starting to automate the initiation of the PAF through Manager Self Service, however in most cases, the form ultimately ends up in a paper format one way or another. Sometimes it is for approval processes and sometimes it's to insert into the personnel file.

Is there really a way to completely automate the PAF and never have it be a piece of paper? Yes! You can use ECM technology for not only the automated approval process, but also to store it in a completely electronic personnel file.
