Percussion Software Adds Personalization To The Percussion 2.0 Solution Series

Percussion Software, a worldwide leader in Web Content Management (WCM) software solutions for improving online messaging, recently introduced its Personalization Solution, the latest in its Percussion 2.0 Solution Series. Personalization is one of Percussion's pre-packaged solutions that help organizations to create a more effective multi-channel web presence. With the Personalization Solution, organizations can quickly and easily create a "personal" messaging experience for their online audiences by tracking visitor behaviors and optimizing site presentation.

The key benefits that organizations will gain from this packaged solution include

  • Delivering consistent messaging dynamically across multiple channels;
  • Creating geo-targeted promotions;
  • Fine-tuning the site based on visitor behavior;
  • Displaying recommendation lists based on personas; and,
  • Segmenting and "tagging" content automatically for the right audience.

Effective online messaging and a more dynamic Web presence, with the stronger, richer personalization that encourages site visitors to be more engaged online, and more likely to become repeat visitors. "By using native Rhythmyx platform features, many of Percussion's customers - such as Hotwire.com, Vegas.com, The Motley Fool and BabyCenter - have already built or are in the process of building out fully dynamic personalization systems," said Vern Imrich, CTO at Percussion. "Our new Personalization solution extends the work of our customer base and packages it into a pre-built implementation, offering a "buy" rather than "build" Personalization option that allows marketers and business professionals to more rapidly engage and build loyalty with their site visitors."

Percussion's approach to Personalization gives business users the ability to rapidly change both content and personalization without IT intervention. By empowering business units to directly manage their business logic for personalization behavior, the Rhythmyx platform enables sites to be fully dynamic, including both segmentation and targeting rules.

"The real promise of web content management systems is the dynamic delivery of relevant, personalized information," said Scott Abel, of TheContentWrangler.com. "Tools like Percussion Rhythmyx make possible the delivery of the right information to the right people at the right time in the right format and language, something every organization should strive to accomplish. Now, there's no excuse."

"Our customers want to create sites that are more compelling and interactive, in order to improve customer/user experiences and drive business outcomes," said Percussion CEO Barry Reynolds. "The new Personalization Solution significantly reduces implementation time, enabling organizations to jump-start their roll-out of personalization while drawing on the unique benefits of the Rhythmyx WCM platform. Rhythmyx provides the essential foundation for interactive marketing, where new tools such as community marketing, analytics, and now, personalization, can be plugged in and out as needed by the business."

The Personalization Solution comes with a pre-defined set of templates, a pre-defined content cache (or schema for one), pre-defined targeting rules and behaviors for CMS users, and a pre-defined segmentation management system. It also makes it easier to define and manage the tagging of content to match it to the relevant audience segments. In addition, it provides an optional pre-built "framework" for site delivery. Customers can easily tailor the framework to match the desired content based on the behaviors, rules, and metadata they define with the visitors detected. They also can match it to the look and feel requirements of their dynamic site environments.

Percussion's Personalization Solution will be available next month and supports Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris platforms. All Percussion 2.0 Solutions are designed to be vendor- and platform-neutral, enabling customers to select the "best of breed" third-party products that best meet their needs. Percussion also offers Solutions specifically for "Select" Vendors who have provided unique or market-leading capabilities or have certified field installations with Percussion Rhythmyx.
