PDF Xpress Version 3 Released By Pegasus Imaging
Pegasus® Imaging Corporation, the world leader in digital imaging technology, recently announces the release of PDF Xpress v3, the software development kit (SDK) delivering PDF file support to software engineers building document management applications. In addition to providing an enhanced PDF feature set, the new version delivers support for creating PDF/A files. PDF/A is a standards-based, 100% self-contained electronic document file format designed for long-term preservation and archiving.
Software engineers use PDF Xpress to build applications supporting PDF file creation, editing, and viewing using licensed Adobe® technology. PDF Xpress is delivered as both a .NET SDK and an ActiveX SDK. It is used to create PDF documents, modify and reorganize existing PDF documents, access metadata, view and create PDF/A documents, and more. PDF Xpress is frequently used in conjunction with Pegasus Imaging's ImagXpress SDK when more PDF features and support are required.
PDF Xpress v3 delivers numerous new features. Software engineers may use PDF Xpress to create image-only PDF/A compliant documents. They may easily add watermarks to PDF documents, using either a text string or a PDF page containing any combination of images and text. Existing watermarks in PDFs may also be removed. Adding text objects to a PDF is now supported with the addition of an AddText API, which is perfect for using text from a database to build image-over-text PDFs. The AddText API provides control over font size and style, as well as text position. In addition, this version delivers the ability for developers to build faster PDF viewing and printing applications by rendering pages directly to a Device Context.
