Nuxeo Launches Its Galaxy Partner Program For ECM Application And Solution Providers
Nuxeo announced recently the launch of their Galaxy Program, a new and innovative program designed for application and solution providers in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) space. More than a traditional partner program, the Galaxy Program enables business and field experts the ability to package their knowledge and offer vertical solutions and applications, called Content-Enabled Vertical Applications (CEVAs), to their customers as well as to the broader, ever growing Nuxeo community.
Nuxeo, as well as leading industry analysts and thought leaders, consider CEVAs as the next major step in the evolution of the ECM market. A CEVA is an application solving an actual business problem in the information management space, merging content, documents, business logic, business processes, regulatory rules and supporting tools. A CEVA focuses on content and is specialized to directly meet the needs of a specific industry or sector. To address this opportunity, Nuxeo has created this comprehensive program to meet the targeted business needs of the customers.
"We've built this program on the basis of many discussions we had over the last months with customers and partners all around the world," said Eric Barroca, CEO of Nuxeo. "The baseline of the Nuxeo Galaxy program could be ‘we do the plumbing, you deliver the value, control your message and your market'. The robustness and flexibility of our platform, associated with our Cloud offering, our worldwide distribution network and the payment, communication and visibility facilities that we're now proposing will make a huge difference on the market."
Bruce Grant, President of metaLogic, the 1st North-America Nuxeo Ceva partner adds, "We chose Nuxeo EP as the base for our content-enabled applications because Nuxeo EP provides a highly scalable and extensible platform that is built to facilitate and streamline customization and integration."
The Nuxeo Galaxy Program targets application and solution providers that want to leverage high-value business knowledge by creating content-centric applications that solve specific business problems. For example, IBM Domino-based applications, while still providing value to their users that are in large part in need of a technology re-fresh are ideal candidates for the Galaxy program.
The Nuxeo Galaxy Program offers the following services to participating organizations:
- Development assistance and coaching via Nuxeo Connect, Nuxeo's support offering
- Increased visibility through Nuxeo's Solution Marketplace, a central and unified place to list and find CEVAs based on Nuxeo's platform
- Lead generation, pre-sales / sales support and joint marketing
- Billing and payment via the marketplace
- On-demand helpdesk
- Nuxeo Cloud Services capabilities to enable the Nuxeo Galaxy partners to propose their solutions as Software as a Service (SaaS). Nuxeo's cloud technology is based on Amazon AWS's infrastructure.

Leveraging Open Source technologies
Building on top of a business-friendly open source license offers many key benefits for application developers and solution provider:
- No licensing hassle: the platform's source code is open, freely distributable and non-viral. Partners are free to distribute their software as they want, using a commercial licensing model or an open source one.
- More productive team will deliver products faster thanks to a fast learning curve and a close interaction with the core team.
- No lock-in: the source code is freely accessible under the LGPL license and maintained.
- Partners can influence the roadmap by participating in the Nuxeo developer ecosystem and get extra technical exposure/ credibility from this.
- Open development: partners can actually see the progress, the bugs and the roadmap. They can also contribute to improve the platform in a more direct way.
- Nuxeo Galaxy combines Nuxeo's platform strength and ease of use with the power of an efficient distribution model and infrastructure, enabling a wide range of new applications in the field of enterprise information and content management.
