Nikon is a multibillion-dollar optical and camera company. It is one of the world's leaders in digital photography. It has nearly 17,000 staff across the globe and generated 2005 revenues of newarly $6 billion.

Nikon wanted to improve the way it managed materials from Japan more effectively by enabling the delivery and translation of materials into 15 languages simultaneously. The company also felt it needed to improve its content management processes to help support the expanding functionality of the websites. The solution was to implement a single system to store, manage, translate, and automate the delivery of content to its website. In addition, Nikon wanted to improve the management of its structured data so that it could begin to link products within its website more effectively for its users.

Nikon has deployed EMC Documentum® 5 for web content and ducument management, and EMC Documentum eRoom™ for enhanced global collaboration across Europe.
