MTx Multifiber Workholder For MTP, MPO, And MMC Ferrules

The MTx Multifiber Workholder is engineered for high-volume production of high-density optical interconnects, including MTP, MPO, MTO, and MMC/TMT ferrules. Its advanced design incorporates Krell’s signature independent suspension at each ferrule position, allowing for precise z-axis movement that guarantees equalized pressure distribution during the polishing cycle. To ensure superior endface geometries, every position is individually interferometrically aligned to the polishing plane. This precision allows the system to achieve exceptional geometry control, including X and Y axis angles of less than +/- 0.1 degrees and fiber protrusion ranges optimized for maximum performance.

Efficiency is a core feature of the MTx system, highlighted by its 1-2-3 loading process that requires no specialized tools. Operators can quickly retract the clamp, insert the ferrule, and lock the clamp, significantly reducing setup times and labor costs. The workholder is compatible with various Krell platforms, supporting up to 12 ferrules. Additionally, the MTX fixture is designed for in-line video inspection, enabling technicians to verify the surface quality and fiber height of polished 12 or 24-fiber arrays directly in the machine to improve overall manufacturing yields.
