The Lower Mill Creek Partial Remedy (LMCPR) in Hamilton County, Ohio, is a large, complex effort to remove about 1.78 billion gallons of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) annually from the Mill Creek, an Ohio River tributary. When complete, LMCPR will improve water quality and serve as a catalyst to improve local neighborhoods.

Challenges

  • MSD’s challenge was to establish a streamlined automated solution that is compliant with MSD’s policies and guidelines in terms of documentation as well as implement a centralized system to communicate, track and report the progress of each element with the construction manager (Stantec), the general contractor (Kokosing) and the design engineer (Strand Associates, Inc.).

Solution

  • Stantec recommended the team use e-Builder Enterprise as its centralized enterprise-wide project management information system (PMIS).

  • Map standard procedures and streamline the submission, review and disposition of submittals, requests for information (RFI), change requests and other construction administration related processes during the project.

  • Custom business intelligence reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate performance and identify potential obstacles.
