Leading European Document Industry Organization Supports LizardTech's DjVu File Format

LizardTech, Inc., a leader in software solutions that make it significantly easier to manage, distribute and access digital content such as scanned color documents, aerial photography and satellite imagery today announced that AIIM Europe will begin posting files, such as industry white papers, event program guides, schedules and past issues of the magazine in DjVu on their Web site, next to the already existing PDF files.

The benefits of using LizardTech's DjVu software, a revolutionary open file format, are significant. AIIM Europe, which relies heavily on posting useful information about upcoming events and seminars on their web site, will now offer their readers the option to view information in DjVu format, which results in the content appearing on their screen instantly without the lengthy load times experienced with other common document formats. In addition, DjVu files preserve the stunning visual quality of the print edition and are enhanced with multimedia features such as keyword searching within pages (even in scanned documents) enabled by the format's OCR support for over 100 languages, hyperlinks, e-mail addresses, page spills and more.

"We are excited to post DjVu files on our web site in addition to the already existing PDF files as another information tool for our members and visitors," said Atle Skjekkeland, Managing Director of AIIM Europe.

Currently many companies worldwide, including the Headway Technology Group, the European Reseller Magazine, www.1837online, LG Electronics, Samsung, Companies House, www.FamilyRelatives.org, Washington State Archives, Internet Archive, and IDG, publisher of Computerworld in Australia, are among thousands who offer their readers and visitors to their web sites the fast and easy navigation between pages, the preserved high quality of the pictures and the document details only available with DjVu.

AIIM Europe will begin posting their documents in DjVu file beginning April 2005.
