Case Study: Howrey Simon Arnold & White

Howrey Simon Arnold & White is a Washington, D.C.- based international law firm with 12 offices throughout the United States and Europe. The firm has more than 535 attorneys practicing anti-trust, intellectual property and complex business litigation, mostly focusing on large, "bet-the- company" litigation. These cases often involve huge numbers of documents, meaning that the firm needed the space and flexibility to bring in hundreds of temporary employees, who might be on board for a month or two.

After outgrowing its existing facility, Howery needed to upgrade its technology infrastructure while moving into a new litigation support facility. In 2003, Howrey found a facility that was large enough to relocate the entire IT support staff as well as the records management departments, and to create a new high-tech "courtroom" that could be used for trial preparation, or to host arbitrations. The facility would also host Howrey's subsidiary, Capital Litigation Support (CLS), which collects, processes, reviews and produces millions of paper and e-documents for Howrey's merger and litigation matters.
