Kyocera Mita America Earns MEDITECH Certification For Ecopro Printers
Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document solutions companies, recently announced that two of its EcoPro document imaging solutions, the EP 470DN and EP 370DN, have been certified by Medical Information Technology, Inc. (MEDITECH), a leading provider of integrated software solutions for healthcare organizations worldwide. This certification ensures the two Kyocera models are fully compatible with MEDITECH's MAGIC operating system, which provides a structured, easy to use programming language to more than 1,500 healthcare organizations worldwide. With this certification, Kyocera continues to achieve noteworthy healthcare industry accolades for its award-winning line of printers.
Kyocera recognizes that healthcare professionals operate in a fast-paced work environment with constant outpatient turnaround. Therefore, they rely on powerful, efficient and hassle-free document solutions. Kyocera is delivering on its commitment to the healthcare industry by continuing to add features and functionality that address both the demanding environment, as well as the compliance and patient privacy requirements within a healthcare setting.
As part of the certification process, MEDITECH prints sample reports in various formats from all MEDITECH MAGIC applications to the printers in question. The organization compares the quality of those prints to a master set of prints, confirming that the shading, borders and each of the characters match precisely. MEDITECH also tests the printer's TCP/IP ports and verifies its network interface card responds appropriately to more than one request.
"MEDITECH certification is a win-win, as it benefits our customers within the healthcare industry, as well as our value-added EcoPro reseller channel, who now have a proven, industry solution to offer this specialty market," said William Cassidy, associate director, Product and Solutions Marketing, Kyocera Mita America. "We are proud to add this certification to our products, as we continue to bring innovative solutions to market."
A principal advantage of Kyocera's EcoPro printers is that they allow administrators to print a high-volume of documents while protecting patient privacy. This high-output functionality, along with Kyocera's best-in-class printer reliability, will help make EcoPro an essential solution to healthcare practices and providers nationwide.
Additional advantages of the EcoPro product line include: PDF direct printing, portable and secure USB host interfaces. Leveraging the optional PRESCRIBE applications allows administrators the versatility to create and store secure medical forms, letterhead and other static documents at their EcoPro printer, while the private print feature enables healthcare workers to secure individual documents via password protection, and remove them from memory immediately after printing.
Kyocera's EcoPro series is a line of black and white and color printers offered exclusively through the EcoPro Plus Program, a strategic distribution agreement with SYNNEX Corporation, a leading business process services company.
