JSR Life Sciences, LLC Expands Through East Coast Center Of Excellence

JSR Life Sciences, LLC announced recently that it has expanded its footprint and technical capabilities through the opening of its Applications Center of Excellence in Durham, NC. The new facility provides state-of-the-art laboratory and work space for JSR’s Separations Sciences Group (SSG) to focus on applications development, customer support and training.

The new facility gives JSR Life Sciences an additional East Coast presence and is co-located at the Durham-based Venture Center alongside JSR Life Sciences company KBI Biopharma, Inc. which also recently expanded into the new location. Along with applications development, JSR’s SSG will focus on characterization and optimization studies for customers and the exploration of technologies at the new location.

JSR Life Sciences, LLC, which manufactures and markets Amsphere A3 protein A chromatography resin for the bioprocessing industry, will also use the new facility to conduct process development scale studies and commercial-scale customer demonstrations. The new lab is equipped with various large-scale columns and automated liquid handling systems to mirror customer GMP processes.

“This new facility will provide world-class technical support and a collaboration space for our expanding North American and global customer base,” said Masayoshi Nagaya, senior manager of JSR Life Sciences’ SSG group. “Being co-located with KBI, we can leverage their analytical capabilities and process development expertise to better support our customers.”
