J&B Software And KPL Productivity Ltd Form Strategic Alliance For Computer-Based Training Program

J&B Software, Inc., a premier provider of enterprise-wide transaction and payment system solutions, announced that they have signed an agreement with KPL Productivity Ltd. to resell KPL's Computer-Based Training Program (CBT) for J&B's Transaction Management System (TMS) software. The purpose of the CBT is to reduce staff training time, increase operator productivity and quality, improve the efficiency of selecting temporary operators, and to cross-train internal staff.

The CBT is a precise recreation of the live TMS environment with exercises that emulate the appearance and functionality of the system's screens and process data that appear in live work. Trainees run exercises that provide extended practice on the system. The system assesses operator input and gives immediate feedback and results for speed and accuracy at the end of the exercise. Detailed results can be stored, reviewed and printed by the trainee or trainer.

The KPL program focuses on the key challenge areas of operator training including staff hiring practices for seasonal peaks, new site startup, standard best practices, as well as tools for the enhancement of ongoing operator productivity and quality. The main functions covered in the program are: Scanline Fix MICR/OCR, Check/Stub Amount Entry, Checks Only, Balancing, Remitter Data Entry, Payee Verification and EDE/DDE. All the coupons/invoices are fully customized to reflect actual data and contain the appropriate capture fields.

The first version of the program has successfully trained hundreds of seasonal operators in a large tax payment processing operation. "The training program developed by KPL is identical to our reallife software. In our environment, we are faced with training many individuals in a short period of time. The program allowed us to do this most efficiently and also allowed everyone to receive a consistent message regarding procedures. The CBT tools reduced training-time and provided the ability to cross-train our staff. The program not only encompasses all of the information necessary for consistent productivity and quality, but it does so in a manner that is user friendly and supports independent learning," said the operation's training manager.
