When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going — And Find Innovative Ways To Do More With Less

Amid banking crisis, three credit unions recognized for successes with enterprise content management (ECM) solution, OnBase

Good news and success stories are hard to come by these days in the financial services industry. But for three credit unions, there's cause for optimism. They have been using technology to remain successful during the turbulent times. Specifically, they're using OnBase®, an award-winning ECM solution. Hyland Software recently honored them with its 2008 credit union awards.

"Credit unions are the technology pioneers of the financial services industry," said Jason King, director of financial services and insurance solutions for Hyland Software. "They understand that the right ECM solution can help them in good times and in bad. Yes, doing more with less is always the goal. But it's perhaps never more important than during times like the turbulent ones we're all now experiencing."

The 2008 OnBase credit union award winners by category (in alphabetical order) are as follows:

  • Innovative Solution Award: Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union – St. Louis, Mo. – (http://www.abecu.org)
This Missouri-based credit union has 26 branches – and they all use OnBase. Its enterprise data management system – with OnBase at the center – has changed the way they do business. Every department – from lending and collections to HR and payroll – now benefits from OnBase. Employees are more efficient, and members are receiving quicker, better service.
  • Social Responsibility Award: Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union – Tampa, Fla. – (http://suncoastfcu.org)
Florida's – and the nation's sixth – largest credit union is committed to providing low-cost banking services to lower income families. To help them to minimize costs and increase productivity, they chose OnBase. Today, they are passing those savings back to members and continuing to provide low cost and convenient banking services.
  • Vision Award: Teacher Federal Credit Union – Golden Valley, Minn. – (http://tfcumn.org/)
The sixth largest credit union in Minnesota wanted an ECM solution to help reduce the mountains of paper. They got it, and more, with OnBase. Along with document management, OnBase plays an instrumental role in collections, auditing and compliance. They eliminated most of their need for off-site storage – and the cost of it.
