The HiCap™ High-Capacity UPC Connector Workholder is a premier solution for high-volume fiber optic production environments seeking to significantly reduce labor costs and cycle times. Designed to interface seamlessly with the Scepter™ Automated Polisher, these workholders support all industry-standard UPC connectors, including SC, FC, ST, LC, MU, and SMA. The fixture utilizes KrellTech’s innovative FastLok™ loading mechanism, which allows operators to simply insert connectors into each position and secure the entire grouping with a single sliding locking plate. This streamlined workflow, combined with an integrated pressure control mechanism, guarantees positive and uniform contact across all 28 connector endfaces simultaneously.
Precision and repeatability are maintained through advanced engineering that meets or exceeds rigorous Telcordia and IEC specifications. The HiCap™ system consistently achieves an apex offset of less than 50 microns and typical insertion loss of less than 0.25 dB. For enhanced processing efficiency, an optional water flow system can be integrated to provide automated application of water during the polishing cycle, further reducing operator intervention. By processing a full matrix of connectors at a rate of approximately six seconds per component, the HiCap™ system provides a scalable, industrial-grade solution for the most demanding telecommunications and datacom manufacturing requirements.
