Floyd County, GA (PRWEB) – The Floyd County Superior Court Clerk’s office is now accepting electronic real estate documents for recording through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing customers with a faster, paperless way to record documents with the county.

“I am very excited to be leading the way into this arena of technology, and I strongly feel this is a wise transformation for our deed room and real estate records stewardship,” said Floyd County Superior court Clerk Barbara Penson. “Floyd County has been seeking e-recording avenues for all documents for at least two years now. E-Recording of all real estate documents will definitely have a great economic impact for our filers by allowing them to file from the convenience of their worksites and offices without the delay of mailing or shipping.”

With the availability of e-recording, customers ranging from title companies, real estate attorneys, banks, lien filers, and other document submitters will be able to quickly scan, upload, and submit documents to the clerk’s office online using Simplifile’s web-based service, eliminating mailing costs and paper waste.

In minutes, the clerk’s office receives, reviews, stamps, records, and returns the documents back to the submitter electronically, cutting out the wait time for documents to be returned by mail.

“The benefit to my office will definitely be a huge savings in manpower hours by not having to re-enter the data,” Penson said. “It is my belief that with e-recording and having the ability to electronically transition the data, there is also less room for human error.”

According to Penson, becoming more proficient and paperless are some of the goals her office hopes to achieve with the implementation of e-recording. Other benefits of e-recording include increased document security, fewer payment errors, and fewer rejected documents.

The county will be holding an e-recording kick-off meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in the Floyd County Superior Court Deed Room in Rome, Ga., at 10 a.m. Simplifile representative Randy Johnstone will be in attendance to demonstrate the system and answer questions for new users.

“We’re excited for Floyd County to be e-recording and providing a service that is not only more efficient, but more cost-effective for recording customers,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “E-Recording is a win-win for everyone involved in the recording process.”

Floyd County is Georgia’s 12th e-recording county and joins more than 1,050 recording jurisdictions across the nation that have also implemented Simplifile’s e-recording service for customers.

Simplifile offers free training and 24/7 customer support for all e-recording users. For more information about e-recording in Floyd County, call 800-460-5657 or visit simplifile.com.
