FileNet Capture Addresses Regulatory Compliance Demands For Capturing Enterprise Content
FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq: FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, today announced the general availability of its next-generation capture products, Capture Professional 5.0 and Capture Desktop 5.0. FileNet Capture 5.0 now includes FileNet ZeroClick records capture capabilities to ensure that documents are automatically declared and classified as records in FileNet P8 once they enter an organization. This integration enables organizations to enforce records management and compliance policies at the technology layer, helping to eliminate user-related errors, reduce time and cost factors, and ensure best-practice records management.
As the primary paper content capture capability for the FileNet P8 platform, FileNet's Capture products enable organizations to acquire and catalog both electronic and paper-based content at its source, then distribute and manage this content based on an organization's specific business needs. FileNet Capture 5.0 incorporates enterprise class document scanning with a powerful, yet flexible, architecture for capturing enterprise content regardless of where it resides or however it's structured.
"Organizations today are demanding solutions that help them address a growing number of compliance regulations which require the capture and management of content assets across the enterprise. To stay ahead of these regulations, organizations are adapting highly-scalable and flexible content management solutions that, at their core, capture enterprise content," said Martyn Christian, chief marketing officer for FileNet. "By incorporating FileNet's innovative ZeroClick capabilities into Capture 5.0, FileNet has given its customers an ECM solution that can capture valuable business information helping to minimize the risks associated with non-compliance."
Additional New Features
In addition to FileNet ZeroClick capabilities, new features in Capture 5.0 include remote office offline capture processing, silent installation, and single station integration. With remote office offline capture processing, customers will now be able to perform specific functions by processing documents offline, during off-hours, from remote sites anywhere in the world. This helps ensure the integrity and security of an organization's data, decreases network usage, and eliminates shipping and handling costs.
FileNet Capture's silent installation feature, which enables the automated installation, configuration, and deployment of FileNet Capture components, helps reduce the cost of administration for FileNet Capture. Single station integration helps reduce the number of installations and configurations an administrator must support by enabling a single capture station to interface with multiple FileNet back-end repositories.
