FatWire Selected By Elsevier To Build Community And Brand Loyalty

FatWire Software recently announced that Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of science and health information, has selected FatWire's Web Experience Management (WEM) solutions to ensure brand consistency across its web presence, and to build a community Around its products and services online.

Elsevier's charter is to deliver world-class information and innovative tools to researchers, students, educators and practitioners worldwide. The web is a primary channel for effectively delivering these services, including a broad range of research, publications, and courseware. Elsevier also wanted the ability to recommend new purchases to site visitors based on their viewing and buying patterns, in order to increase the relevance of their site and to drive additional sales.

The Elsevier team required an easy-to-use, scalable Web Content Management (WCM) solution with web 2.0 collaboration, personalization and community capabilities in order to deliver a better service to its customers, and to strengthen its customer relationships and brand awareness using the web.

FatWire Content Server was chosen to automate its entire WCM process including content authoring, site design, content publishing, targeted marketing, site analytics and user participation. With FatWire Content Server, Elsevier can build a community by quickly implementing web 2.0 features that facilitate user interaction and also create a consistent brand identity online.

"Having a solution that we can use to personalize online recommendations for our customers and encourage user-generated web content in the form of product ratings, comments, and blogs was critical," said Mirko Minnich, Elsevier's vice president and chief technology officer. "FatWire Content Server provides us with a scalable solution that meets our needs and helps us expand our online community."

"The web plays a key role in how companies communicate with their customers," states Ken Delaney, FatWire's senior vice president of sales in North America. "FatWire clients can achieve the full benefits of web 2.0 collaboration and communication, and deliver an exceptional web presence using our platform."
