Ektron And VML Partner To Deliver A Proven Integration Between Ektron CMS400.NET And Microsoft's Silverlight
KANSAS CITY, Mo. & NASHUA, N.H. --(Business Wire)-- Ektron Inc., a technology and market leader in Web content management software, and VML, one of the world's leading digital marketing agencies, announced today that they have established proven integration between Ektron's CMS400.NET content management solution and Microsoft's Silverlight.
Silverlight is Microsoft's new cross-browser plug-in for delivering richer Web experiences to end-users, including video and animation. VML has produced a number of public Silverlight-based applications for Microsoft, including the first all Silverlight site, HelloSecureWorld.
According to Todd Kirtley, VML's CTO, employing Silverlight technology is only the beginning. "Even a site with the best user experience is limited if it can't be easily updated and maintained. VML turned to partner Ektron to provide a framework for achieving this solution. Ektron CMS400.NET enables organizations to rapidly create, deploy and manage the content on their sites efficiently and with ease. Features such as a powerful taxonomy, an open API, interactive RIAs and advanced XML Smart Form technology create the foundation that organizations need to develop their Web sites.

The integration was written to support both Silverlight 1.0 and the 2.0 beta, thus allowing the solution to be deployed today as well as into the future, when 2.0 is released from beta. In support of the Silverlight technology, VML has a 15-member team of Silverlight developers and designers. Ektron has 35 engineers dedicated to Microsoft Technology and the Silverlight initiative. Both companies are also participating members in the Microsoft Silverlight Partner Initiative program.
A demonstration of the Ektron Silverlight integration is being presented this week at the Microsoft Global Partner Conference in Houston, Texas at booth #173.
