eCopy Expands Document Scanning Options For Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

eCopy Inc., a provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications, recently announced its eCopy Connector for Microsoft SharePoint, now supports the Image and Scanner Interface Specification (ISIS). This enables any office professional to scan documents directly into an Office SharePoint Server 2007 repository from any network-attached, ISIS-driven scanner. ISIS is an enterprise-level interface standard for document scanner technologies.

eCopy document imaging software duplicates the Office SharePoint Server 2007 user experience at the capture device, making the scanning process intuitive and easy. eCopy software also supports Office SharePoint Server 2007 capabilities such as enabling users to navigate through their available sites, libraries and lists, when storing scanned documents, as well as support of multiple content types and real-time integration for accurate indexing.

"For organizations looking to capture documents and incorporate them securely into SharePoint Server 2007, eCopy provides a device-independent document imaging platform. Users can scan documents using eCopy with the vast majority of multifunction peripherals (MFPs) and office scanners, including those that use the ISIS standard," said Vickie Malis, vice president of Marketing at eCopy. "eCopy's easy to use interface and seamless integration promotes user adoption and increases the value of Microsoft technology investments."

In addition to document scanners, most organizations today already have scan enabled multifunction peripherals (MFPs). By simply adding eCopy document imaging software to these MFPs, office workers can easily scan documents into SharePoint to improve information access and collaboration.
