Early Case Technology Revolutionized

iCONECT Development, LLC announces it is developing advanced solutions to early case assessment and culling that use in-depth text analytics and concept searching from Content Analyst to more accurately identify responsive documents as well as duplicates, near-duplicates, the types of documents and the topics they cover in a ground-up approach to assessing the potential review workload. This methodology is significantly more efficient than top-down approaches that attempt to use keyword-based culling to whittle down and organize a large collection.
This innovative approach will leverage iCONECT's experience with web-based hosting and review along with Content Analyst's analytics technology (CAAT). The first release will be a processing, early case assessment and culling tool named INCEPT. iCONECT is developing INCEPT focusing on the user experience and interface design, while integrating CAAT for the core capture, search and indexing functionality.
Law firms and corporations will use INCEPT to accurately estimate the potential time and cost to handle a case. If a case proceeds to litigation, the detailed analysis and features such as concept searching will provide a reliable method for reducing and organizing the review workload.
"For existing iCONECT clients, INCEPT software will deliver a full end-to-end solution allowing documents to flow seamlessly from capture and processing through to production," said Ian Campbell, Chief Operating Officer for iCONECT Development, LLC. "For non-iCONECT clients, INCEPT will give them the ultimate in control over what documents are subject to the costs of review."
iCONECT's previous integrations using CAAT brought pre-review clustering capability to iCONECT software in Q4 2008 and then concept searching in Q1 2009. Both features are integral to ensuring accurate reviews and preventing inadvertent waiver of privilege (as outlined in FRE 502 — Attorney-Client Privilege and Work-Product Doctrine).
"This agreement is something we're excited about as iCONECT is already a proven leader in the litigation support arena," said Kurt Michel, President and CEO of Content Analyst. "The integration of CAAT into INCEPT is a natural extension of Content Analyst's technology into an area of the e-discovery market that will bring great value to iCONECT's partners, customers and the industry as a whole."
INCEPT will be available as an in-house solution and also through iCONECT's worldwide network of over 50 application service providers (ASPs). INCEPT will be marketed by INCEPT Technologies, LLC which is a member of the iCONECT group of companies. Current development plans indicate that INCEPT will be available in early 2010.
iCONECT's flagship product, nXT, has a proven track record with over 10 billion pages hosted worldwide as the review and collaboration platform in litigation cases, mergers and acquisitions, and multi-party international projects. Key features already provided by nXT include support for Chinese, Russian, Arabic and over 250 other languages worldwide, as well as TIFF-on-the-Fly, e-mail review tools, bulk tagging, user metrics reports, concept searching and clustering. nXT platform options include: nXT as a self-contained product with embedded database technology; nXT connected to Microsoft SQL Server; or nXT connected to Oracle
