Document Management: Thunderhead Announces Full Support For IBM FileNet P8 4.0 ECM Platform

Thunderhead to leverage FileNet's new compound document management capabilities

Thunderhead, the leading provider of enterprise communications solutions, today announced full support for the IBM FileNet P8 4.0 platform, which was announced earlier today by FileNet, an IBM company. With this announcement, Thunderhead extends its proven, out-of-the-box integration with the FileNet P8 platform to the newest product version, FileNet P8 4.0.

The Thunderhead platform is a leading solution for the creation and management of multi-channel business communications and is often deployed in combination with leading Enterprise Content Management solutions. The integration between Thunderhead and FileNet P8 enables customers to more effectively manage the critical processes by which they communicate with their customers, partners, employees, and constituents.

Then deployed with IBM FileNet P8 Content Manager, the Thunderhead platform can reuse content that is stored in the FileNet P8 repository in the creation of Thunderhead templates and in the production of business communications. Additionally, documents and communications that are produced by the Thunderhead platform can be automatically archived to FileNet P8 Content Manager and, with the addition of FileNet P8 Records Manager, can be automatically declared, managed, and retained as vital corporate records.

Thunderhead also provides full integration with FileNet P8 Business Process Manager (BPM), enabling users – at any point in a business process – to invoke, in real time, Thunderhead's automated capabilities for producing multi-channel business communications.

Further, through its support for Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL), Thunderhead can also dynamically invoke FileNet P8 BPM for robust exception handling and resolution. The combination of FileNet P8 BPM together with Thunderhead's Review Framework creates the first exception management environment for process-driven business communications.

Thunderhead also announced plans to further its integration with the P8 platform to make full use of FileNet P8 4.0's new compound document management capabilities. Extending its integration with FileNet P8 will enable Thunderhead to utilize the FileNet P8 4.0 Content Manager solution to provide a comprehensive audit trail for Thunderhead communications for compliance purposes.

"Business communications, including customer correspondence as well as critical supporting documentation such as mortgage loan documents and insurance claims information, form a large percentage of the content that our customers want to store and manage in their ECM solutions," said Christopher McLaughlin, Chief Marketing Officer, Thunderhead. "Therefore, it is critical that we maintain a strong business relationship with the industry's leading ECM solution provider."

"A number of our customers, including Alliance & Leicester in the UK and Origen Financial in the US, are already realizing tremendous value from our proven IBM-Thunderhead joint solution and we're even more enthusiastic about the new levels of functionality that we can achieve with FileNet P8 4.0."
