The Oregon Clinic is an evidence-based, multidisciplinary partnership providing medical care to patients in the Portland area. Founded in 1994 with the merging of eight existing practices, the Oregon Clinic today includes over 100 sub-specialist physicians. HL7 Integration
In spring 2007, the Oregon Clinic decided to meet expanding requirements for patient records access by implementing a next generation patient records management system powered by LibertyNET. The glue of the system is an internally developed application, known as Justice, which integrates LibertyNET content management services with the GE Centricity (formerly Logician) practice management system, using HL7 messaging. HL7 is an XML based messaging protocol for formatting, transmitting and receiving data in a healthcare environment. The goal of HL7 is to increase interoperability between software applications found in a typical healthcare organization.
