The Mekel MACH V will be introduced to the public by The Crowley Company on Monday, October 20th at the ARMA International Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada (Las Vegas Convention Center). "The MACH V is the vehicle of our Quantum Scanning process – a step beyond the typical full-roll or ribbon-scanning hardware and processes currently on the market," states company president Chris Crowley. "It's a natural progression in our Mekel product line. Mekel introduced the first microfilm scanner to the world in 1989 and has been producing equipment to move the record management and archiving industries forward for the past two decades. The MACH V, utilizing our Quantum suite of software, offers 100% image capture and is the most advanced scanning system on the market today."

The MACH V scans an entire roll of 16mm or 35mm film – up to 1,000 feet standard – in minutes. "As far as I know," continues Crowley, "no other product on the market processes 1,000 foot rolls as a standard; instead, this comes as an expensive option. Additionally, QuantumScanning simultaneously detects all images while scanning the entire reel of film and processes the data before it goes to the hard drive – another industry first. This intelligent scanning assures that optimum image quality is captured at scan-time and not in secondary or post-data captures, upgrading even the poorest of originals and increasing production efficiency for the operator."

Designed for any user in need of high-quality microfilm scanning regardless of volume or prior scanning expertise, the hardware/software combination is typically up and running at full speed in less than one day. "The cost of ownership should prove to be among the lowest in the industry," cites Crowley. "Mekel Technology has been a subsidiary of The Crowley Company since 2003, enabling us to sell direct to the market, eliminating the middle-man. This relationship also allows us to react quickly to customer feedback and allows for continuous improvement on all of our Mekel hardware and software solutions. This is a huge benefit to the end-user and to us as we strive to stay ahead of the competition."
