Content Management: S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances From Certeon Receive "Designed For EMC Documentum" Accreditation
Certeon, the vendor to provide Application Intelligent Networking for significantly accelerating application access over wide area networks (WANs), recently announced that its S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances have received the "Designed for EMC Documentum" logo designation, a mark of quality and value that customers insist on in enterprise applications. The Certeon S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances utilizes Application Acceleration Blueprint software that identifies network traffic streams that need to be accelerated. The "Designed for EMC Documentum" accreditation demonstrates that the Application Acceleration Blueprint for EMC Documentum Content Server and eRoomcollaboration software have successfully met a comprehensive set of criteria for good design, development and implementation. In addition to the accreditation, Certeon is announcing a referral relationship to incent the EMC sales force to engage Certeon for delivering high performance collaborative Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions based on Certeon's S-Series appliances.
The S-Series overcomes the inherent limitations of WAN bandwidth, latency, packet loss and network contention by employing its Application Acceleration Blueprints. Certeon's Application Acceleration Blueprint for EMC Documentum Content Server and eRoom identifies the application objects contained within documents and Web traffic, distinguishes differences between those changes, and then sends the compressed differences over the network. Certeon's S-Series increases collaboration and productivity for both Documentum Content Server and eRoom customers by enabling them to turbo-charge file downloads and page renderings by more than 90 percent. EMC Documentum Content Server and eRoom customers will be able to realize gains in performance and productivity while maximizing their existing networking and EMC environments all without replication, synchronization or modification to their existing environments.
Certeon's S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances received design accreditation by meeting high standards for application design, development, configuration, installation processes and overall quality. As a member of the "Designed for EMC" program, Certeon receives specialized design consultation and guidance, along with access to dedicated EMC content management technical resources. Certeon will also be able to include specialized "Designed for EMC Documentum" logos on packaging, marketing collateral and other promotional materials pertaining to S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances.
"By providing the S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances as a packaged offering based on the EMC Documentum platform, Certeon is enabling joint customers to unlock the value of their business content for greater productivity," said Randy Ziegler, Director, Developer Programs, EMC. "Certeon is extremely pleased to join the EMC Documentum Application Developer Program, and in being awarded "Designed for EMC Documentum" status for our S-Series appliances," said Peter Dougherty, CEO, Certeon. "In today's distributed enterprise, a high-performance enterprise content management environment is imperative. EMC Documentum and eRoom users can now benefit from Certeon's ability to improve remote office productivity by overcoming the challenges of the WAN."
