Content Management: Certeon Makes S-Series Available For EMC Documentum 6 Enterprise Content Management Platform
Certeon the industry's only vendor to securely accelerate mission-critical applications effectively, recently announced that its S-Series Application Acceleration Appliances, previously accredited as "Designed for EMC Documentum," have been validated on the next-generation EMC Documentum 6 enterprise content management platform. The validation demonstrates that S-Series has met a comprehensive set of criteria for "testing and quality integration" with the next-generation Documentum 6 platform.
EMC made available the Documentum 6 enterprise content management platform in July of this year. Through participation in the Designed for EMC program, Certeon received early access to the Documentum 6 software to test the S-Series for integration with the next-generation platform. As a result of rigorous testing and full integration, the S-Series has been deemed "Documentum 6 Ready." This designation is intended to give joint customers confidence that the S-Series meets high standards for architectural compliance with Documentum 6 and is capable of providing a reliable integration.
Certeon's S-Series appliances are designed to extend the Documentum 6 content management platform to provide more than 90 percent improvement in end-user application response times in the remote access of unencrypted and encrypted files over the wide area network (WAN). Tests performed by EMC and Certeon suggested that the S-Series optimizes Documentum 6 application and file access via the WAN. As tested, the S-Series significantly off-loaded the compression overhead from the Documentum 6 server, potentially enabling users to realize further performance gains when remotely accessing applications and files, including encrypted documents that are being transported over the network via the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. The S-Series testing also indicated that Documentum 6 customers could turbo-charge the access of all files over the WAN, but in particular, speed secure file access between the data center and branch offices without compromising performance or data integrity.
"EMC's position as the leader in enterprise content management is strengthened by the support of great partners such as Certeon," said EMC's Randy Ziegler, Director EMC Developer Programs. "The Designed for EMC partner developer program enables our partners to deliver better offerings that fully leverage the new features and functionality of the next-generation EMC Documentum platform. Customers have demonstrated their trust in the EMC Documentum platform to manage their most critical and strategic information. The Designed for EMC programs enable EMC to continually earn that trust while supporting innovative offerings like Certeon's S-Series."
"Today's customers are looking for improved ease of use, responsiveness and security when accessing critical corporate information. In particular, slow application response times over the WAN can seriously undermine employee productivity," states Peter Dougherty, President and CEO, Certeon Inc. "Working with the Documentum platform has enabled us to provide customers with a solution that not only dramatically speeds the remote access of all ECM traffic, but in particular, accelerates mission critical application traffic securely."
Certeon's S-Series received the "EMC Documentum 6 Ready" designation as a result of participation in the Designed for EMC programs which help ISVs, VSPs and SIs design, develop and go to market with successful offerings based on the EMC Documentum platform. As a member, Certeon received specialized design consultation and guidance, along with access to dedicated content management technical resources and marketing support.
