Fatwire Unveils Content Integration Platform For Fatwire Content Server Customers

FatWire Software recently announced the availability of its FatWire Content Integration Platform and the beta release of the EMC Documentum connector to enable customers to more effectively manage content across highly complex environments.

The web has become a necessary channel for organizations to manage the customer experience. In order to realize the full potential of the web, organizations need to be able to harness all of their assets for use online. Today, most organizations store content – such as documents, images, videos, etc. – in a series of disparate repositories. Enterprises need to tap into these valuable assets to make websites richer, and to provide current and relevant information online.

The FatWire Content Integration Platform solves this problem by enabling organizations to access content stored across the enterprise, and publishing it to their public websites, intranets and extranets managed by FatWire Content Server. The FatWire Content Integration Platform offers a web-services-based peer-to-peer content integration model for accessing and sharing content from EMC Documentum, plus Windows and Unix file systems, and supports a long list of content types such as documents, audio, video, images, and more.

"As one of world's largest publishers of scientific and medical journals, accessing content from different providers to share with our customers online is a large and growing task," states Mirko Minnich, CTO at Elsevier Health Science. "FatWire's new Content Integration Platform could provide significant efficiencies for our internal staff, and enable us to deliver even better, faster service to our clients."

FatWire customers can now use Content Server interfaces to access content from across their various business silos for use online. The solution employs strict enterprise standards for maintaining version control, access policies, and workflow applied to documents and content shared.

"We serve over 210 million passengers each year who rely on our website for the most up to date airports and travel information, so we need to manage and update content from a myriad of sources," states Eloy García, Internet Director at Aena, the leading company for managing all civil airports and air traffic in Spain. "FatWire's new Content Integration Platform could drastically enhance the service we deliver to our customers via the web for increased operational effectiveness and greater customer loyalty."

The FatWire Content Integration Platform enables customers to:

  • Maximize the value of all types of content in the organization by enabling content to be easily used and re-used as needed online, regardless of where it is stored.
  • Deploy and securely publish documents stored in EMC Documentum to web sites managed by FatWire Content Server…all without leaving the FatWire Content Server interface.
  • Support company-wide content security, content management, and content retention policies for all content types, even as they are used online.
  • Formalize and enforce business processes used to access, review, share, and publish content online.
  • Avoid duplication of content and reduce time and cost associated with managing and sharing distributed content.

"Content integration is critical to the success of our customers online," said Yogesh Gupta, FatWire president and CEO. "The launch of the FatWire Content Integration Platform and the Documentum connector offer exciting possibilities for using the web to reach across business silos. We will continue to build on the capabilities introduced today to help customers to better leverage their investments in content to deliver a world-class web experience."

The Documentum integration is part of a planned series of integrations enabled by the FatWire Content Integration Platform and more will be announced later this year.
