Clearview Software Delivers Clearview ECM 5.1 To Customers For Even Better ROI

Clearview Software, the leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions that complement and extend Microsoft SharePoint, proudly announces the release of Clearview ECM 5.1, adding significant new capabilities to Clearview ECM 5.0, released in autumn 2008. The 64-bit edition included the addition of a comprehensive Business Process Management module (Clearview Ultimate Edition), intelligent indexing and index validation, external data access, and compatibility with Kofax 8.0, while this latest version simplifies integration with the organization's mission critical business applications and broader IT objectives.

"Products that can enhance or extend value to existing infrastructure are expected in today's market," says Senior Vice President of Sales Steve Leichtman. "The enhancements made in this latest release provide just that. Our customers will be able to extend their existing applications and processes and create the highly desired content-enabled vertical applications. These solutions in concert with Clearview's powerful Business Process Management and SharePoint positioning position our customers to maximize their return on investment in this difficult economic time."

A significant feature of Clearview ECM 5.1 is the XML submission capability, which can be used to submit digitized documents to Clearview as an alternate process to scanning in documents manually.

"Clearview has always had the ability to import content from various third-party products," explains Ken Creech, CTO at Clearview. "However, in this release we have expanded our existing set of services to provide additional capabilities for integration with third-party products. This empowers our customers and partners to choose other—or better yet leverage existing—front-end capture products."

Another significant feature is the new application programming interface (API)—based on the highly regarded Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services—which provides Clearview's strategic business partners with the ability to create secure, custom applications that have a tighter integration with line of business applications. WCF services are the most secure and reliable services in the market space. Furthermore, the API also enables business process management workflows to seamlessly interact with content in any repository in the Clearview Virtual ECM Domain.

Additionally, Clearview ECM 5.1 comes standard with many new document management features, including PDF text search and a detailed iFolder history. iFolders, or intelligent folders, help organizations keep important files organized and compliant. When a required document is missing from an iFolder—for example, a loan application—information workers and managers can quickly identify that the loan iFolder is incomplete and incompliant. Having access to the details from the iFolder history—such as when the iFolder was created and whether it was system generated or manually created—would prove invaluable to a manager or auditor.

"With a record numbers of loans being originated and modified as a result of the mortgage crisis, the iFolder History feature available in Clearview ECM 5.1 will be especially valuable to banks and lending institutions," says Meredith Adams, director of marketing and resident user experience specialist. "We are constantly enhancing the usability of our software to improve the end-user experience."

This user-first approach is also apparent in the enhanced Clearview 5.1 plug-in for Microsoft Office applications. Information workers can now save Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and email messages in their Outlook folders to the appropriate SharePoint repository in Clearview without having to remember the URL of their SharePoint server.
