Capture Software: Daybreak ICS Unveils eCapture Suite At EMC World 2007

Next generation software provides Documentum users with expanded document capture capabilities for distributed environments

Daybreak Intellectual Capital Solutions, Inc., a provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software and consulting services, today announced eCapture Suite (e4x), the next generation of its eCapture tools. This innovative capture software is first to market in its class with a concurrent licensing model and no page counts. The eCapture Suite enables users to scan documents and import them into popular enterprise content management (ECM) systems in one step. The first release, eCapture for Documentum, is for the EMC Documentum 5 platform.

The eCapture Suite is built on a modular platform that consists of the core capture engine and ECM platform plug-ins. Additional plug-ins can be added, making it easy to scan, index, and route paper documents into multiple ECM repositories. The software provides security features including secure communications, user authentication and access control to appropriate content repositories. e4x is built from the ground up for Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) to facilitate interoperability with legacy systems within an organization.

"eCapture Suite addresses distributed and ad-hoc capture needs within an organization, enabling paper to participate in enterprise business processes the same way as electronic files. Built for ease of use, workers can efficiently capture documents with the press of a button," said Kara Cleaver, Daybreak President and CEO. "eCapture for EMC Documentum provides a launch pad directly into the Documentum repository, providing Documentum users with a simple solution for inserting paper into their electronic business processes."

eCapture for EMC Documentum connects to the Documentum Content Server, enabling realtime communication with the server and eCapture desktop client. Users have the ability to route documents into multiple docbases and can also capture and assign document attributes. For easy full-text indexing and retrieval, users can scan to searchable PDF on the fly for full-text indexing and automatically capture metadata through the application's zonal OCR functionality.

eCapture for EMC Documentum is scheduled to ship in July 2007.
