Böwe Bell + Howell Scanners Boosts Product Management, Logistics, And Technical Support With Two Promotions, Five New Hires
Böwe Bell + Howell Scanners wraps up 2005 with an energized team of new recruits and promotions in its product management, logistics and technical support teams. The company manufactures and markets a full line of high-end, midrange and entry-level document scanners.
Sean M. Parnell, 32, was promoted to head of product management from his previous role as the company's senior product manager.
In his new role, Parnell will lead all product development and marketing initiatives undertaken by product management teams at Böwe Bell + Howell. Working closely with the company's senior management, Parnell also will work to expand collaboration between the marketing and engineering departments for all new product development.
Parnell holds a bachelor's degree in operations management and information systems from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill.
ZhaoMin, 39, joins Böwe Bell + Howell's Beijing office as a product specialist. Equipped with extensive engineering and project management experience, ZhaoMin has held managerial roles at the Beijing Founder Order Computer Co. and the Beijing Sanjin Electronic Group. He also has served as a project manager for MIS at the Bank of China.
In his new role, ZhaoMin will provide technical support and pursue product certifications in compliance with the China Quality Certifications Center, as well as for the regional banking and financial sectors. ZhaoMin holds a bachelor's degree from the Beijing University of Technology and is pursuing a master's degree in engineering project management from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Stacy M. Sax, 29, joins the company as a product manager. In her new role, Sax will be responsible for new product development with a focus on competitive analysis and sales support. Her efforts at Böwe Bell + Howell will be concentrated particularly on Sidekick, the company's total desktop scanning solution for workgroup and departmental applications.
Before joining the company, Sax planned and managed marketing and sales initiatives as marketing manager at Cole Parmer, a division of Fisher Scientific and provider of specialty technical instruments for scientific research and testing. Sax holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and biology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.
Steven V. Pawlowski, 48, the company's new systems design test engineer, has more than 28 years of experience in software design, testing and maintenance. At Böwe Bell + Howell, Pawlowski will be involved with software and throughput testing for the company's scanners.
Proficient in Visual Basic and C++, Pawlowski previously served as a research and development software engineer with Spartanics Ltd., a manufacturer of automated counting, die cutting and handling equipment for graphic arts companies.
Edward Sarkis, 46, has been promoted to a Tech 2 technician at Böwe Bell + Howell's Depot Repair Unit. In his new role, Sarkis will provide and deliver expert scanner depot repair service for end users, Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) and Value Added Resellers (VARs).
A Böwe Bell + Howell employee for close to a decade, Sarkis was most recently a Tech 3 integrator for the manufacturing unit of the company's Copiscan 8000 Spectrum line of high-volume document scanners. Sarkis holds an associate's degree in electronics technology from DeVry University in Chicago, Ill. He also has completed his A+ certification from Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Ill.
Christian A. Castro, 27, joins Böwe Bell + Howell as senior electronic technician. His primary responsibilities include testing new and existing products and providing technical support to the company's manufacturing department. Castro also will provide technical support to Böwe Bell + Howell's channel partners and end-users.
Prior to this, Castro served as an electronic engineer with Bodine Electric Co., a manufacturer of industrial AC and BLDC fractional horsepower motors. At Bodine, he provided technical support and designed and built manufacturing test equipment and prototype boards. Castro holds a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology from the DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, Ill.
Karen M. Firak, 37, comes to Böwe Bell + Howell as a logistics coordinator with more than 11 years experience in global shipping. In her new position, Firak will support the company's sales and marketing teams and channel partners with all international shipments.
Firak previously served as a logistics manager with Standard Rubber Products Co. in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
