Brooks Health System Turns To Document Management With ImageNow From Perceptive Software
Perceptive Software, creator of ImageNow enterprise document management, imaging and workflow software, recently announced that Brooks Health System has entered into an agreement to deploy ImageNow in its outpatient facilities and patient finance department.
Based in Jacksonville, Fla., Brooks Health System is a non-profit health system encompassing a 143-bed acute physical rehab hospital and 26 outpatient clinics. Brooks Health's inpatient and outpatient services cover Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
"As Brooks expands its business lines, we have had to implement diverse host applications to meet the needs in these niche areas. Seamless integration of patient information is a must-have for us," said Karen Brooks, chief information officer, Brooks Health.
By deploying ImageNow, Brooks Health will have single-click access to all key documents related to each patient encounter, such as therapists' notes, transcribed reports and insurance information, while eliminating loose paper medical documentation and admission documents. The seamless integration of ImageNow with Brooks Health's host applications, Meditech and Rehab Toolkit, will put complete patient charts at the fingertips of Brooks Health employees, directly from their Meditech and Rehab Toolkit screens. This will allow employees to make quicker, more informed decisions while enhancing the patient's experience from start to finish, helping promote faster recovery.

ImageNow will allow us to eliminate the printing of paper records, manual handling of paper, and to re-engineer our processes to take advantage of the electronic ‘convenience store' of information that ImageNow will provide for us," added Brooks. Brooks Health System will initially roll out ImageNow into 26 of its outpatient clinics along with its outpatient finance department.
