Armedia Unveils Content I/O Suite

Armedia LLC, a provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software and consulting services, recently announced the launch of Armedia Content I/O Suite, a collection of three software products designed to help users maximize the value of their ECM platform. A result of Armedia's new product development efforts, Content I/O Suite is an integrated family of software applications that focuses on the collection, migration and delivery of content between multiple input sources and output destinations.

Content I/O Suite is designed to easily and efficiently get content and corporate assets to where they provide the most value to an organization. As an extension of Armedia's Caliente! and Ligero products, each module is available separately or as an integrated suite. The solution streamlines labor intensive tasks so users can get the most value from their ECM implementation. Content I/O Suite currently supports Documentum, SharePoint, file systems, and custom repository destinations. Further integrations with other ECM repositories and enterprise applications are on the product roadmap.

Content I/O Suite consists of the following three modules.

CI/O Collect
CI/O Collect is a content collection and delivery solution for paper and electronic content. Users can easily capture paper and electronic content from multiple sources – scanners, fax servers, network folders, and more – utomatically assign metadata values, and deliver to the target destination. CI/O Collect extracts metadata from more than 300 electronic file formats, delivering content and associated metadata to various destinations, such as content management systems, and enterprise applications such as eDiscovery or ERP solutions. This product will be shown as a sneak preview at EMC World in Orlando Florida in May.

CI/O Migrate
Armedia Caliente! fills the CI/O Migrate position in the Content I/O Suite. Caliente! is used by Fortune 500 companies and intelligence agencies to automate content and metadata migration from filestores and databases into the target ECM repository. For example, with Caliente!, a user can designate certain folders on the file system as hot folders. Caliente! monitors each hot folder and applies the appropriate task on content as it arrives. Users simply drag and drop files into local folders to insert them into the repository, eliminating the need to learn an extensive ECM interface.

CI/O Deliver
Armedia's Ligero product fills the CI/O Deliver position in the Content I/O suite. Organizations challenged with making content from legacy repositories available on intranets and external websites often struggle with traditional publishing tools. Armedia Ligero CI/O Deliver Server offers a fresh approach to the challenges of integrating content management systems with web, portal and enterprise applications. Ligero CI/O Deliver Server changes the publishing model for organizations such as today's largest domestic and international airlines, by serving new content directly from a repository to a caching server, eliminating the need to publish files. Ligero CI/O Deliver Server can then be configured to cache content for efficient delivery according to security and business policies.
