Anixter International Selects Brainware To Automate Invoice Processing
Brainware, Inc., an innovative provider of intelligent data capture and enterprise search solutions, recently announced that Anixter International has selected the company's Brainware Distiller solution to automate the processing of nearly 1.2 million invoices per year. Anixter will also leverage Brainware's workflow system to automatically route approvals and the Brainware Visibility module for real-time statistics and reporting on the invoice processing cycle.
Brainware Distiller will extract and validate header and line item data from Anixter's invoices that arrive via postal mail, email and fax. The organization's goals for this project are to reduce the time required to enter data from invoices and cut the errors associated with the process.
"Finance departments have recognized that automation is the fastest way to achieve top performer or world-class status amongst their peers," said Carl Mergele, Chief Executive Officer at Brainware. "Anixter has made an investment in Brainware to help the company incorporate accounts payable best practices en route to improving operational efficiencies and realizing significant cost savings."
"Big multinational manufacturers with tens of thousands of suppliers have to process tremendous volumes of invoices and cope with thousands of different formats," said Melissa Webster, Program Vice President at IDC. "Leaders are leveraging advanced technologies to automate their invoice processing—to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, and improve working capital by optimizing payment scheduling."
In the past several months, Brainware has signed more than a dozen new Global 2000 accounts, including deals with CORT Business Services and Continental Airlines.
