American Hospital Association Expands OnBase Endorsement To All Hospital Departments

It's no secret. Getting the right people all of the right information at the right time allows for better patient care. But, the reality for the majority of healthcare organizations is they don't yet have the tools to operate this efficiently. There are mountains of paper files. Disconnected systems. So what is a provider to do? Many, including the federal government, believe the answer is technology that allows for the creation of a paperless, automated environment. Specifically, the American Hospital Association (AHA) recommends that organizations consider OnBase. Developed by Hyland Software, OnBase brings together content from the clinical and revenue cycles. And, it does it quickly and within a tight budget. Because it has proven itself time and again, the AHA recommends OnBase as the document management software suite for the entire hospital.

"Hospitals are always working hard to improve the quality of patient care," said Anthony Burke, President & CEO for AHA Solutions. "But for that to happen, they must continue to find ways to operate more efficiently. We are recommending OnBase because it is proven to make this possible. It makes all documents across the entire healthcare organization centrally available. So, regardless of the department or its location – administrative, revenue or clinical – providers can get exactly what they need when they need it."

Since 2005, OnBase has been endorsed by the AHA for its document management capabilities in the revenue cycle and administrative operations. This renewed endorsement extends the original to include all areas of a hospital such as electronic medical record (EMR) integrations and human resources.

"The healthcare industry is under a lot of pressure to use technology to operate more efficiently and cost effectively," said Tim Tegeder, director of healthcare solutions for Hyland Software. "But the difficulty is that they have to pick the correct technology quickly and get it right the first time. AHA works to make this easy for hospitals by taking the time to find what works and what doesn't. Because of its proven track record and ability to expand with organizations, they know that OnBase meets the document management needs of every department in a hospital."
