AIIM International Launches Sharepoint Certificate Program Created With Gimmal
Unique Training Focuses on Governance for SharePoint 2010 with SharePoint Practitioner eLearning Bundle and classroom courses developed by Gimmal immediately available
AIIM International has launched the first of its kind SharePoint Certificate Program to meet a growing need by organizations to learn how to plan and manage content and records and ensure governance on the SharePoint 2010 platform. The online and classroom course materials were created by Gimmal based on course objectives defined and reviewed by AIIM Education Advisory Groups in the US and Europe. The courses include tracks for SharePoint Practitioner, SharePoint Specialist and SharePoint Master. The AIIM SharePoint certificate program provides SharePoint Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Records Management (RM) best practices distilled from numerous Gimmal SharePoint implementation projects which bring together the technology of content management and the discipline of records management through practical and effective strategies.
Microsoft SharePoint is fundamentally changing the landscape for content and records management so that it can now fully extend enterprise-wide and is poised to ignite the enterprise ECM and RM market. SharePoint offers a compelling path forward to moving more electronic content into ECM and RM repositories, away from share drives, ungoverned SharePoint or other collaborative sites and email.
These training courses will enable AIIM to assist in accelerating the education and cross-training of ECM and RM implementers and consultants across the industry that are new to SharePoint. This is especially important in light of the market shortage of skilled and experienced SharePoint architects and developers.
"Gimmal is committed to achieving certification via the AIIM training program for its staff to ensure a high level of proficiency in SharePoint across all of our consulting and implementation teams. We are also supporting these best practices in Gimmal's SharePoint Enterprise Framework, which is an implementation accelerator for the deployment of ECM and RM via SharePoint" says Gimmal founder, Mike Alsup.
"Through our consulting engagement with Microsoft on the requirements to enable DoD 5015.2 and MoREQ2 certification for SharePoint 2010, our numerous client engagements and our current development of the Gimmal DoD 5015.2 Records Management Application, we have built a strong base of intellectual property in the deployment of SharePoint 2010 for content and records management," said David Quackenbush, President, Gimmal.
The AIIM training is targeted for information management professionals, IT professionals, business analysts, line-of-business managers, and consultants, the program is delivered online or in public and private classrooms. While focusing on SharePoint 2010, the program also covers SharePoint 2007 and the technologies that complement SharePoint to enhance and extend its capabilities.
