The ABBYY FineReader Engine 8.0 for Mac delivers a powerful, flexible tool to integrate optical character recognition (OCR), barcode recognition and PDF conversion functions into applications running on Mac OS X. With the new SDK, software developers working in the Macintosh environment can take advantage of the top-ranked ABBYY OCR technology that has been licensed by many leading software and hardware providers including Canon, DICOM/Kofax, EMC/Captiva, Microsoft, Microtek, NewSoft, Notable Solutions, Samsung Electronics and more. This version of the ABBYY SDK provides native support for both Intel and PowerPC-based Mac computers and allows creating universal binary applications.
