A2iA, the worldwide leading developer of handwritten and machine printed text recognition, information extraction and intelligent classification of paper documents, today announced OSEO, the French Agency for Innovation dedicated to providing support to innovative small- and medium-sized enterprises, has awarded the company with a new repayable grant. This grant will support the development and sales efforts of a new internal platform dedicated to processing archived documents. It will also help with the development of a new A2iA recognition engine that can read and extract old-fashioned handwritten information and integrate large lexicons, while maintaining a fast processing speed.
This new internal platform will provide A2iA's project engineers with new algorithmic tools adapted to the characteristics of archived documents, including poor image-quality, complex formats, old-fashioned handwriting, and large volumes.
For the past three years, A2iA has worked with a growing number of projects related to archiving and indexing for administration, local communities and private organizations dedicated to genealogy and heritage searches, and this new development platform will enhance future projects involving these specialized documents.
"Once again, OSEO has shown it remains one of the greatest professional portals for innovative French small- and medium-sized enterprises," said Jean-Louis Fages, A2iA President and Chairman of the Board. "For nearly 15 years, OSEO has provided us with invaluable assistance in our development."
OSEO's renewed support for A2iA's innovative work reinforces the company's strategic decisions and objectives that include helping organizations move towards automating their most complex workflows. In past years, OSEO awarded A2iA with two repayable grants for the development of A2iA CheckReader™ and A2iA DocumentReader™, which are currently used by 15,000 customers in 24 countries and have generated more than 60 million Euros in sales since their launch.
A2iA, Artificial Intelligence and Image Analysis, is a software company that operates one of the world's largest research centers focusing on ways to extract information from everyday paper documents that contain handwritten information. A2iA's Document Classification, OCR, ICR and IWR technologies have been reducing data-entry costs and improving business process automation for nearly 20 years. A2iA recognition engines can be used to enhance the forms processing, transaction processing, business process management, record-management, e-discovery, content management, document management, and knowledge management systems from leading vendors.
