McLaren Software Releases Document Controller Client For Enterprise Engineer
McLaren Document Controller client is the latest role specific user interface designed to reduce the complexity of managing engineering documents and control processes
McLaren Software, leaders in Engineering Document Management and Control applications, have recently announced a newly re-engineered Document Control client focused on providing Document Controllers with all of the key functions required to complete their day-to-day tasks.
The McLaren Document Controller client conforms to the Microsoft Fluent User Interface standard using the now familiar ribbon menus to provide easy access to all document control and management tasks. In conjunction with Enterprise EngineerTM a Document Controller is able to initiate, manage and monitor document control processes for capital projects, vendor and engineering deliverables management, transmittals and operations & maintenance from one user interface. Creation of review, approval and transmittal packages start with one click of a button. Reporting, searching and monitoring functionality are all supported.
The ribbon menu options reflect the various stages of a document's lifecycle presenting the Document Controller with valid options reflecting the company and industry processes previously configured with Enterprise EngineerTM. Context sensitive help and super tool-tips all contribute to the intuitive approach for easy adoption and minimal training.
Also included with the McLaren Document Controller client is a new Content Loader tool designed to support consistent and rule based bulk importing of documents, drawings and associated metadata. This same tool automatically validates metadata and calculates the target file locations.
