The new version makes the often onerous task of migration even simpler and easier by covering further requirements when migrating documents by enabling users to migrate a site/central admin, list/library, and items from a SharePoint to another SharePoint.

These can be migrated with all lists, libraries, site collections, site features, site columns, web parts, workflows, items and user interface elements. List/library and items can also be migrated between two sites of the same SharePoint Server.

In addition the following options have been added for SharePoint to SharePoint migration:

• Filter SharePoint content
• Migrate user permissions by mapping users
• Attribute mapping
• Schedule migration jobs
• Generate CSV for Site migration, List/Library migration and Item migration
• Migration using CSV

The updated LMD supports SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Foundation 2010 and also boasts an improved user interface.
