The Will County Recorder’s office has implemented electronic recording through Simplifile, providing customers with a faster, more convenient way to record their documents.

Will County, IL (PRWEB) - The Will County Recorder’s office has implemented electronic recording (e-recording) through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, offering customers a faster and more efficient way to record documents.

“I wanted to provide my customers with a more cutting edge option of recording,” said Will County Recorder Karen A. Stukel. “The office will run more efficiently and allow our customers to submit and receive their documents quickly.”

Instead of having to submit documents by mail or driving to the recorder’s office, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers will have the ability to scan or upload documents and submit them online through Simplifile’s secure, web-based service.

“With e-recording, both the county and its customers will be able to cut down on paper, postage, envelopes and check-writing expenses as the once manual, paper recording process moves to a streamlined, electronic one,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “We’re thrilled to help provide this technology to Will County and to their submitters both locally and nationally.”

According to Stukel, Will County is currently accepting mortgages, assignments, liens, releases, modifications, judgments, and subordinations as electronic documents for e-recording.

“I am currently looking to partner with the Department of Revenue to eventually be able to record deeds, which will further automate the office,” Stukel said.

Increased document security and fewer payment errors are also some of the benefits of e-recording, as recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile via Automated Clearing House.

Will County is the 19th county to begin e-recording in Illinois, joining more than 1,170 recording jurisdictions nationwide that make up Simplifile’s e-recoding network.

High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
