Englewood Hospital And Medical Center Signs Agreement With TeraMedica For Its Evercore Vendor Neutral Archive

TeraMedica, Inc. announced that following the signing of an agreement between the parties on June 19th, 2013, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center will be implementing TeraMedica's Evercore Clinical Enterprise Suite in late 2013. Initially, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center will be utilizing TeraMedica’s patented Smartstore module for its DICOM management requirements.

The Evercore Smartstore vendor neutral archive module, which intelligently manages the total image lifecycle of all DICOM content, will initially be deployed across Englewood Hospital and Medical Center’s Radiology and Cardiology Departments. This implementation will include all GE Centricity PACS-IW Radiology, Hologic Mammography PACS, and McKesson Medcon Cardiology PACS systems throughout the enterprise. The agreement also calls for TeraMedica to connect Englewood Hospital and Medical Center’s McKesson STAR EMR and QuadraMed EMPI system to Evercore.

“Englewood Hospital and Medical Center was looking to accomplish a number of priorities from a technical standpoint,” said Jim Prekop, TeraMedica’s President and CEO. “Their overarching goal was to bring all systems including PACS, EMR, EMPI and new hardware infrastructure under one umbrella. Our patented technology, Evercore, preserves complete flexibility and scalability to give Englewood Hospital and Medical Center what their healthcare enterprise needs now and into the future.”

“Englewood’s investment in TeraMedica’s Evercore Vendor Neutral Archive will enable us to provide convenient clinician access to images across our enterprise,” said Ronald J. Fuschillo Jr., Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. “Once we discovered how Evercore could provide one comprehensive solution for managing our clinical content, we knew TeraMedica was the right solution to provide access to our patients’ ever-expanding digital imaging history.”

The Evercore Smartstore vendor neutral archive module integrates and manages patient-centric clinical content in the clinical and research settings across wide geographies, including standard DICOM objects. Evercore also possesses the ability to natively manage and distribute beyond DICOM using global standards such as MPEG, JPEG, PDF and many other critical clinical content such as treatment plans for cancer care or vital reports in non-standard formats. TeraMedica's vendor-independent platform also can connect multiple PACS to any storage system, thus ending cumbersome data migration.
