Top Image Systems' Solution Deployed by Winner of 2011 Spanish Population & Housing Census Processing Project

Tel Aviv and Cologne (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Top Image Systems, Ltd. (NASDAQ:TISA), a leading ECM (Enterprise Content Management) intelligent content capture and delivery solutions provider, announces that eFLOW® Forms was selected as the technology for the 2011 Spanish Population & Housing Census Processing Project. Top Image Systems was tasked with the complex challenge of processing some 1 million 20-page census forms, or altogether some 20 million pages in a short timeframe. The project commenced in October 2011 and production was completed by May 2012.

The 2011 Census was the first time that Spain combined the use of administrative registers with fieldwork, including a Building Census and a large-scale survey, in order to ascertain the features of people and housing; this Census methodology eliminated the need to collect questionnaires from Spain's entire population of over 40 million persons. The project actually incorporated three censuses: buildings, dwellings and population. The statistical operation consisted of carrying out the count and researching the main characteristics of all of the buildings and dwellings in the country, and of all the people resident in Spain. In order to carry out the population count for the 2011 census, it was sufficient to collect information from a sample percentage of the population, as the operation used the information available in the Municipal Register and other administrative registers such as the Population Register, the Cadastre and the Identity Cards Database issued by the Ministry of the Interior. The results to be obtained are expected to be of a quality greater than or equal to that of other censuses conducted previously.

Remarks Michael Schrader, Managing Director, TIS EMEA, "Top Image Systems is proud that it has successfully completed the processing of the Spanish Census in the short project timeframe specified. Clearly the deep and extensive experience that Top Image Systems has accumulated in census processing, from our recent projects in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany, Italy and South Africa, as well as in other censuses we have executed around the globe, from Brazil and Argentina to Kenya, Turkey and India – altogether managing some 30 censuses over the past fifteen years – gives us an unparalleled advantage that enables us to continue to be the market leader in the census arena."
