DocuWare Certifies New Production Scanner From Kodak Alaris

High-speed scanner passes rigorous tests to boost productivity and integrate seamlessly with ECM software

DocuWare, a global leader in the ECM industry, has tested and certified the Kodak i4850 Scanner with its latest version of document management software, DocuWare 6.8.

Kodak i4000 Series Scanners are aimed at the mid-volume production market. DocuWare’s testing and certification was performed on the newest and fastest of the group. The i4850 quickly and easily integrates into a DocuWare installation, allowing users to effortlessly turn paper documents into digital files. Along with fewer interruptions and increased productivity, i4000 Series Scanners are capable of providing digital images for a fully searchable PDF/A for filing in DocuWare. Documents of various types, sizes, and lengths can be scanned and simultaneously delivered directly into a virtual DocuWare tray for further processing.

With DocuWare’s ability to manage any type of document, regardless of format or source in one central document pool, one search results in all the records needed for any business transaction – available on a desktop, tablet or smartphone. Digital files are accessible worldwide with secure authorized access. The i4000 Series, designed for service bureaus and other busy production scanning environments, combined with DocuWare provides all of the necessary components to make documents available for complex workflows that support accounts payable and purchasing departments, HR onboarding, and other line of business applications.

Scanning either in color, B&W, or grayscale, the i4000 Series works at throughput speeds ranging from 110ppm for the i4250 to 150ppm for the i4850.The i4850 Scanner’s performance with the DocuWare software solution easily matched or surpassed Kodak Alaris’ stated speed specifications.

Kodak Alaris and DocuWare have an ongoing partnership dedicated to helping customers significantly increase productivity. Testing and certification of the i4850 Scanner was performed as part of Kodak Alaris’ ISV Alliance Program aimed at providing support for solution providers that develop software that interacts with Kodak Alaris hardware.
