TERMINALFOUR Scoops Content Management Deals With Eight Irish Local Authorities

TERMINALFOUR, the enterprise content management specialist, today, announced that it has been awarded eight individual contracts for its Site Manager enterprise content management system to power local authority websites. These include Cork City, Sligo, Mayo, Galway City, Galway County, Wexford, Kerry and Westmeath councils. With combined contract values of EUR500K, these deals indicate the current strong public sector demand to make information more accessible to the public. It brings to twelve, the total number of Irish local authority customers won by TERMINALFOUR in recent times.

The content management systems provided by TERMINALFOUR will make the council websites easier to use for members of the public and staff alike through better provision of information and self service on-line forms. Local authorities are seeing the importance of making their websites more end-user focused and accessible. Members of the public can now access many services online, 24 hours a day.

Through the use of Site Manager, Councils will now be able to publish their web sites in multiple languages, thereby making citizen information and services more available in today's multi-cultural society. While Site Manager will be mostly used to manage websites, the possibility to develop personalised extranet portals for councillors will also reduce the need for large number of paper circulars to be distributed to councillors prior to meetings.

A key driver for the investment is to improve online facilities for citizens and make the web sites more user-friendly and accessible, especially to users with different levels of sight, hearing and dexterity capability. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager functionality ensures that all content published meets industry regulations, such as the as the W3C WAI accessibility standard.

TERMINALFOUR Site Manager is a very efficient tool for the creation and customisation of multiple user-specific areas of a website. It allows non-technical employees to publish their own multi-lingual content without recourse to web specialists, while ensuring that sign-off controls and processes are in place. The provision of eForms and self-service capabilities also allow information, such as planning or mapping details, to be extracted from other systems. This improves the quality and timeliness of information available online for citizens, as well as local authority employees.

Robert Curley, Head of ICT, Galway City Council said, "The TERMINALFOUR Site Manager product has helped us to develop and deliver a scalable, easy-to-use and accessible website, which can be maintained by any of our staff members, regardless of their technology expertise."

"TERMINALFOUR's content management system provides us with an excellent structure to fulfil our customer service obligations regarding accessibility for all to Galway County Council's services." Ciaran O'Donnell, Galway County Council.

Piero Tintori, managing director of TERMINALFOUR said, "There continues to be significant activity in this sector, with further councils currently in the process of moving over to content managed websites. We are also seeing our existing local authority customer becoming much more interactive through online self-service and eForms functionality of our content management systems."
